Improving Access to Local Information

The Community Broadcasters Foundation of Canada

We are founded on the ideals of authenticity, accessibility and diversity. The Community Broadcasters Foundation of Canada ensures every dollar raised benefits the people that community radio stations serve by providing trustworthy local information, promoting local voices, and supporting democracy as a whole.

99.3 County FM is putting Canadian artists first and that starts in the library. Thanks to a grant from the CRFC Radiometres program, the station got rid of its US-based library service and instead worked with local artists to create a unique Canadian programming library, prioritizing Canadian music and content.

 Supporting Community Stations Across Canada

The Living Languages Project

Language is more than communication, it affords people the ability to share understanding, develop beliefs, record history and think ahead to the future; it forms community. The Living Languages Project supports the production of Indigenous language instructional training, and development of content in those languages…

Words and Culture

Words and Culture is a first of its kind in Canada.  Led by Kim Wheeler (Mohawk/Anishinaabe), this will be Canada’s first series focussed on all original content examining Indigenous languages, created by an all Indigenous production team.

Amplifying Voices

This program was designed to empower Indigenous radio broadcasters and the communities that support them to expand and to amplify the critical language programming that so many are already producing.
